We love to see innovation in tennis. It’s what pushes the game forward, and it’s what makes our company such an exciting place to be. So when New Balance invited us over to the USA to get the lowdown on their Gamechanger philosophy, we were on the first plane out.
The Boston-based giant has always been at the forefront of research and development when it comes to sports gear, and since entering the tennis market in 2013, they’ve made serious waves, decking out Milos Raonic in particular with some of the best footwear and apparel we’ve seen in a long time.

At their new headquarters, an impressive superyacht-style construction built in 2015, New Balance’s creative teams are really pushing the boat out to help athletes perform at their absolute maximum. “The Gamechanger philosophy is about making people better,” says Jonathan Grundon, Senior Creative Design Manager. “We want you to have so much confidence in our product that when an opponent sees you wearing an ‘N’ on your shoe, they’re already nervous. The assumption is: this guy can play.”
That’s certainly the case when you face off against one of New Balance’s sponsored athletes. Raonic is the leading name, but there’s a steadily growing squad of players behind him who are equally as intimidating on the court. While we were in the US we caught up with three of them – Heather Watson, Sorana Cirstea, and Jordan Thompson – for a bit of well-earned downtime. They’re all top players, and top people too, as you’ll find out when you watch the videos below!
