Ask any of Yonex’s pros what they think about Yonex and their VCore, like we did in New York this summer, and they’ll have nothing but good things to say about the company and their racket.

YONEX Player Tech talk

VCORE Launch Party

Thinking of giving Yonex a go but you’re not sold on the idea of switching over from one of the big three brands?

Well, let’s use a car analogy to illustrate why you’re unlikely to be disappointed with the new Yonex VCore racket.

Sleek designs, pro performance, market-leading miles to the gallon, and exceptional reliability are just some of the reasons why Mercedes, BMW and Volkswagen often beat out other car makes in the popularity stakes when there are many other options that rival and even better these big three in every category.

Take a Japanese brand like Honda, for example, who make some of the best engines in the world. The late Brazilian Formula One driver Ayrton Senna even called them “the greatest company in the world” and stated that Honda probably played the most significant role in his three world championship titles.

In tennis, the superbly engineered, high performance Japanese brand with a fair few titles of its own is Yonex, which includes five Grand Slams in the hands of Lleyton Hewitt and Stan Wawrinka.

“It’s been an amazing relationship with Yonex for many years now, and I’ve shown many times how much I love to play with the racket. I’ve won some big titles with Yonex, three Grand Slams. The VCore is really perfect for me and I’m happy to keep playing with it,” Stan told us.

Talking of relationships, Yonex has been having a positive impact on the local communities and the children in and around the Bronx in New York. Check out our video below with Nick Kyrgios and Francis Tiafoe, with some helpful back-up from NYPD officers, as they handed out tennis rackets and gear and helped out with some coaching for the NYJTL program.

Serve and Connect in New York

So what does two-time Grand Slam winner Lleyton Hewitt think of his relationship with Yonex? “I’ve been with Yonex for over 20 years now and I won all my big tournaments using a Yonex racket. They’re just a fantastic company to work with. They’re so thorough, they’re always trying to improve the technology to help the player, especially with the modern game.”

Croatian, Donna Vekic, has been with Yonex for eight years. “The VCore has been a great racket for me and it really suits my game. I play aggressive so it helps me to get some spin and some control at the same time while still assisting my aggressive game.”

One of Yonex’s newest pros, 19-year-old Canadian Denis Shapovalov, who endorses the 95 racket and is hotly tipped to win his first Grand Slam in 2019, is more than happy to be playing with the VCore. “I’m really loving the new frame. Yonex have adjusted it and it still has that same pop but with more spin, so it’s coming heavier off my racket. It’s working well for my serve and especially my forehand but, at the same time, on the volleys I still have that good feel on it.”

Thankfully it’s not all business when we go to these events, and while we were in New York we also managed to fit in a little bit of fun with the Yonex pros. Be careful, though. Some of the jokes in our Laugh You Lose video are so bad they’re actually good. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
